Teksmark: ’n Kunste Onbeperk-projek, ondersteun deur die Nasionale Afrikaanse Teaterinisiatief (NATi) en die Baxter Teatersentrum | A Kunste Onbeperk project, supported by the Nasionale Afrikaanse Teaterinisiatief (NATi) and the Baxter Theatre Centre

Kunste Onbeperk se Teksmark, nou in sy tweede jaar, se doel is om nuwe Suid-Afrikaanse verhoogtekste te ontwikkel en aan skrywers ’n geleentheid te bied om hul idees en tekste aan belanghebbendes in die teaterbedryf, bekend te stel.

Kunste Onbeperk’s Teksmark (Script Market), now in its second year, aims to develop new South African play scripts and provide an opportunity for playwrights to introduce their ideas and scripts to interested parties in the theatre industry.

Terugblik op die eerste Teksmark | Review of the first Teksmark

By die eerste Teksmark in 2016 is 14 tekste gekies en deur skrywers voorgelê. Amee Lekas se Die dans van die watermeid is deur NATi opgeraap en debuteer in September by die Baxter Teatersentrum. Marina Albertyn se Melk en vleis open in Oktober 2017 by Aardklop

14 play scripts were selected and presented by playwrights at the first Teksmark in 2016. Die dans van die watermeid by Amee Lekas was selected by NATi and debuts in September at the Baxter Theatre Complex. Marina Albertyn’s Melk en vleis opens at Aardklop in October.

Wie kan deelneem? | Who can participate?

Alle skrywers (hetsy gevestig of opkomend) kan deelneem.
All playwrights (whether established or emerging) can participate.

Hoe werk deelname? | How to participate?

Skrywers het die titels van hul tekste, ’n uiteensetting van die inhoud en karakters en ’n tematiese konteks ingedien. Volledige tekste was verwelkom, maar opvoerbare uittreksels van ten minste tien minute was  die minimum vereiste.

Playwrights had to submit the title of their script, a description of the content and characters, as well as thematic context. Complete scripts were welcomed, but performable extracts of at least ten minutes was the minimum requirement.

Hoe werk Teksmark? | What does Teksmark include?

Voorstelle word oorweeg om op 7 en 8 November 2017 as leesteater by die Baxter Teatersentrum in Kaapstad aangebied te word. Verteenwoordigers van teaters, feeste, vervaardigers en ander moontlike beleggers word genooi om met skrywers oor hul teks-idees te gesels.

Proposals are considered to be presented as play readings at the Baxter Theatre Centre in Cape Town on 7 and 8 November 2017. Representatives of theatres, festivals, producers and other possible investors are invited to discuss script ideas with writers.

Watter tipe voorstelle word oorweeg? | What type of proposals are considered?

Voorstelle in alle Suid-Afrikaanse tale word oorweeg, maar die skrywer moet inwillig dat die teks ook na Afrikaans vertaal mag word. Slegs tekste wat nog nooit voorheen professioneel opgevoer is nie, word oorweeg.

Scripts in all South African languages are considered, but playwrights must be willing to allow for the text to be translated to Afrikaans. Only scripts that have not previously been performed professionally, will be considered.
